Recruiting

Have you ever considered becoming a volunteer firefighter? Do you enjoy helping others? If so, we need you! If you want to be a member of our fire department, you must be at least 19 years of age or older, in good health and possess a valid driver’s license.

We will teach you all the skills you need to become a firefighter. We have an in-house training program which is supported by Newfoundland & Labrador Fire & Emergency Services. Along with classroom training, firefighters receive training which includes driving and operating all trucks and pumps, as well as practical skills. At our training facility you can do fire attack, smoke house searches, ladder work, vehicle extrication, First Aid and many other exciting hands on training exercises.

As a member of our Fire Department, you would be covered by workers Compensation, an accidental death & dismemberment insurance plan which will cover you at all times (even when you are not firefighting) and you would also receive an honorarium from the Town of Grand Bank for your service and dedication. Successful applicants will have to provide a Certificate of conduct.
